This foundation-level course is a web-based, self-study, interactive equivalent to introduce basic National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) concepts and provide the foundation for higher-level Emergency Operations Center, MACS, and ICS-related training.  This course integrates the NIMS guidelines and meets the NIMS Baseline Training requirements using an all-hazards, all-agency approach and explains the relationship between ICS and NIMS. It is the first in a series of courses designed to meet all-hazards, all-agency NIMS ICS requirements for operational personnel.

This course was developed by the U.S. Fire Administration's National Fire Academy, in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Management Institute, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the NWCG. Estimated completion time: Four hours.
