Richard “Andy” Loller, Jr.

Firefighter

Firefighter Loller was deployed as a part of a strike team to fight a wildland fire in the Davis Mountains in West Texas.  Firefighter Loller became ill while clearing out hot spots.  He told other firefighters that he was not feeling well.  He was treated by other firefighters and flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital where he was stabilized.  During a flight to a regional hospital by medical aircraft, he died.  His death was cardiac-related.

Richard “Andy” Loller, Jr. was honored on the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland and was included in the USFA’s annual report Firefighter Fatalities in the United States.
