Firefighter Compton and the members of his fire department worked at the scene of a multi-alarm fire at an auto body and glass business. The incident was dispatched at 1652hrs and the last unit cleared at 0115hrs on November 11, 2017. Firefighter Compton arrived at the scene in Engine 423.

At the conclusion of the incident operations, Firefighter Compton went home. Approximately 14 hours later, firefighters were called to Firefighter Compton’s residence. He had suffered a heart attack. He was transported to the hospital but died upon arrival.
