Kevin Ramsey


Firefighter Ramsey and his crew fought an intentional fire in an apartment building. Units cleared the scene at approximately 1139hrs. He and his crew worked a second fire in a commercial building. They were dispatched at 1347hrs and returned at approximately 1432hrs.

Once back at the station, at approximately 1502hrs, Firefighter Ramsey complained of not feeling well and of experiencing chest pain. Other firefighters called for EMS. Before EMS arrived, Firefighter Ramsey collapsed. Firefighters and emergency medical responders provided care and Firefighter Ramsey was transported to the hospital. Despite all efforts, Firefighter Ramsey did not survive his heart attack.

Kevin Ramsey was honored on the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland and was included in the USFA’s annual report Firefighter Fatalities in the United States.
