Edward E. Luttig

Edward E. Luttig, 54, a member of the Sacramento Fire Department, died on September 10, 1990, from injuries sustained 23 years earlier while fighting a residential fire. Friends had requested that his name be added to the national monument list. Luttig, a firefighter for three years, was overcome by smoke while searching for survivors in an apartment fire. Sacramento firefighters donated their time and money to support the firefighter and his family during those 23 years.
