Fire Police Officer responded with other members of his fire department to a hazardous materials incident at a residence. Approximately 40 gallons of diesel fuel had been spilled. When he arrived on the scene, Fire Police Officer Smith complained of not feeling well. EMS was dispatched to the scene and Fire Police Officer Smith was evaluated and placed in the ambulance. He suffered a heart attack and could not be resuscitated.
