On February 5th, Firefighter Louis Valentino became trapped when the roof of an Auto Body Shop in East Flatbush-Brooklyn collapsed. Fifteen other firefighters were injured at this 3-alarm blaze. Firefighter Valentino died less than an hour after the fire started at about 3:40 pm.

Louis Valentino was honored on the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland and was included in the USFA’s annual report Firefighter Fatalities in the United States.
