Jalen S.D. Smith

Firefighter Smith was a passenger in a vehicle driven by another firefighter responding to a crash involving a tractor trailer. For reasons that are not clear, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. There are conflicting reports regarding Firefighter Smith’s location after the crash, he may have been ejected. Firefighter Smith suffered head and back injuries. He was transported to the hospital and treated but died as a result of his injuries on December 3, 2012.
